Process
Rabbi Levitansky had 400 families as part of his congregation in Sumy, Ukraine prior to the outbreak of the war in February 2022.
Many of those families are now displaced from their homes or no longer live together as family units (as some family members serve in the Ukrainian military). Some are refugees in countries throughout Europe and the Middle East.
The initial client families have been chosen according to those with the greatest need from amongst Rabbi Levitansky’s Sumy Ukraine congregation.
There are currently over 25 families benefiting from monthly stipends through the program.
All funds raised for Ukraine Family Connection are passed on, on a 100% “no strings attached” basis, to needy Ukrainian families. There are no administrative costs associated with the program.
